How to Get Started with the BankID App

BankID on mobile is getting replaced by BankID app, this applies to all banks. Before getting started with activating the BankID app, it's smart to check off these steps first:

  1. Make sure your have an active BankID-agreement. If this is expired you will not be able to activate the app. You can order a new agreement with your bank.

  2. Do you remember your personal BankID password? It will be the same password that you use with your code device. If you've forgotten your password, you can order a new one-time-password with your bank.

Here’s how you can set up and activate the BankID app:

  1. Download the BankID App

    • Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

  2. Activate the App

    • Open the app and follow the activation process.

    • Select the bank that issued your BankID (e.g., Sparebanken Vest for Bulder customers).

  3. Log in Using Your Code Device

    • Use your code device and personal BankID password to activate the app.

  4. Test the App

    • After activation, test the app by logging in to a service that supports BankID, such as your online bank or a public service.

  5. Replace Your Code Device (Optional)

    • If you plan to replace your code device entirely with the app, ensure the app is working correctly first.
